Creditworthiness, ZEK and scoring

Before approving a loan, the bank assesses your creditworthiness using several sources of information. Here they are.

The ZEK

The ZEK, the Swiss credit information centre, is a database run by credit institutions. It records ongoing loans, leases and credit cards, as well as payment incidents.

Negative entries remain visible for several years after the debt has been settled.

The IKO

The IKO, the consumer credit information centre, is required by law. Banks must report the loans they grant to it and consult it to check your existing commitments.

Bank scoring

Each bank uses its own rating system. It combines criteria such as age, permit, length of employment, income, housing situation and credit history.

That is why the same application can be refused by one bank and accepted by another.

Checking your data

You can request a free copy of the information held about you by the ZEK. This is useful to make sure no incorrect data is weighing on your application.

How we help you

We analyse your situation before approaching a bank. We target the institutions whose criteria match your profile, which limits unnecessary applications.

Let's talk about your project.
