Pillar 3a
Saving for retirement while paying less tax: pillar 3a is one of the most effective tools available. But you need to choose the right solution.
At a glance
- 01
Tax deduction
Your contributions directly reduce your taxable income for the year.
- 02
Bank-based 3a
Flexible contributions and the option to invest in securities to suit your profile.
- 03
Insurance-based 3a
Guaranteed savings and protection for your loved ones if the worst happens.
- 04
Staggered withdrawals
Several accounts opened early let you spread withdrawals and reduce tax.
Pillar 3a is restricted private pension provision. The amounts you pay in each year are deductible from your taxable income, up to a ceiling set each year by the Confederation, which differs depending on whether or not you belong to a pension fund.
There are two main options: bank-based 3a, which is flexible with no commitment to pay in, and insurance-based 3a, which combines savings with protection in the event of death or disability. We compare both according to your situation.
